Junior secondary

Students in Junior secondary study Science as part of their core subjects.  Science continues to transform our world, especially through technology.  Science is a powerful way of generating and organising knowledge and a significant contributor to the cultural and intellectual development of our society.

Science is above all the product of imaginative human endeavour entailing much trial, effort and modified ideas. Students of science, future citizens, need to be resourceful, have an open mind and come equipped to cope with present and future change.

Senior secondary

Chemistry, Physics, Biology (OP) are offered to senior students.  Students entering these courses must have received at least a high level of achievement (HA) in Science at Year 10 level or a sound level of achievement (SA) in Senior Science Preparation.  Some mathematical skill is required in Physics and Chemistry and it is assumed these students follow a Maths B course as a companion subject.

Science in Practice (non-OP) is also offered to senior secondary students.  This course draws on a broad based multi-disciplinary approach (aspects of Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Earth Science) and provides students with foundation knowledge and understandings related to Science.
