Established in 1960, Yeronga SHS is a strongly connected, environmentally conscious, school community that has the well-being of the child central to all learning experiences. Students will be equipped with the real world skills, experience and knowledge to think creatively and critically in an increasingly complex world. Yeronga State High School is located in Brisbane's inner south side. We are a medium-sized school with approximately 900 students. Staff, students and parents take a great deal of pride in our school community and we consistently achieve outstanding results in academic, sporting and cultural pursuits.
Yeronga SHS is on the train line, 4 kilometres from the CBD. The school is well serviced by buses too. Set on 40 glorious acres, our students have plenty of space to 'spread their wings'.
Our state-of-the-art Sports Centre houses a commercial gymnasium which staff and students take great delight in accessing.
One of only two fortunate public schools in the state, Yeronga SHS has a 180 seat air-conditioned Auditorium where our arts students are able to shine day or night.
Always a hive of activity, the central courtyard is a great meeting place for the whole school community to come together. During the day it is the place where hotly contested basketball games are played out.
