Yeronga State High School Wins National Student Voice Impact Award
We are proud to announce that Yeronga State High School has been named the winner of the Australian Council for Student Voice – Student Voice Impact Award.
This national recognition celebrates our ongoing commitment to empowering students to lead meaningful change within our school community.
At Yeronga, student-led summits are now a core part of how we embed student voice in school life. What began in response to global conversations like Black Lives Matter has evolved into a structured, student-driven model for identifying key issues, proposing solutions, and presenting actionable plans to school leadership.
Our students have tackled a diverse range of topics—from uniform policies and school rules to intercultural leadership and support for Year 7 transitions. The outcomes have been more than symbolic; they have led to real, systemic change. Student voice is now a vital part of our strategic planning, demonstrating what’s possible when young people are empowered to lead.
We’re incredibly proud of our students and this national recognition of their leadership.
