Celebrating Success on the National Stage

Yeronga State High School is proud to celebrate an exceptional year of national recognition, highlighting the strength, innovation and values of our school community.

National Award Win: Horizons Women’s Hub

We are thrilled to announce that Yeronga State High School’s Horizons Women’s Hub has been awarded Best Co-Curricular Program at the 2025 Australian Education Awards.

This prestigious award recognises the Horizons Women’s Hub as a leading example of student-centred, inclusive programming that empowers young people to grow in confidence, leadership and wellbeing. The Hub provides a safe, supportive space where students connect, learn and thrive - reflecting our commitment to quality pathways and holistic education.

National Finalist: Wellbeing Program

Adding to this achievement, Yeronga State High School was also named a finalist for our Wellbeing Program at the National Educator Awards, held in Sydney.

This recognition acknowledges the deep care, innovation and collaboration that underpin our whole-school approach to wellbeing. It reflects our belief that when students feel safe, supported and valued, they are empowered to succeed both academically and personally.

Award Winner: Student Voice Impact Award

We are also incredibly proud to announce that Yeronga State High School has won the Student Voice Impact Award, recognising the powerful role our students play in shaping school culture and decision-making.

Our student-led summits, originally inspired by global movements such as Black Lives Matter, have grown into influential platforms for meaningful change. Through these forums, students have driven initiatives including:

  • shaping uniform policies

  • strengthening intercultural leadership

  • supporting positive Year 7 transition experiences

At Yeronga, student voice isn’t just heard - it is central to who we are. This award affirms our commitment to listening to, learning from and acting alongside our young people.

A Shared Achievement

These awards reflect the dedication, creativity and care of our entire school community - students, staff, families and supporters - working together to create an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.

We are proud of what we have achieved together and excited to continue building Quality Pathways to Success for every student at Yeronga State High School.
